Avila La Fonda Hotel: Review & Recommendation
In the small little town of Avila Beach, California , a hidden gem exists: Avila La Fonda, a small boutique hotel. This unique, Mexican style hotel, offers quality and attention for a leisurerly stay. We have stayed in the Owner's Suite, including a Thanksgiving celebration. The Owner's Suite includes a separate bedroom with a king bed, so tall, they provide a step stool! The master bathroom includes a steam shower and full dry sauna! There is a queen Murphy bed in the living room, along with a couch, a half bathroom and a full, luxury granite, stainless steel kitchen. We have also stayed in a standard room, which includes a king bed, bath and kitchen; and also the Family retreat. The Family Retreat Room has two queens, which a somewhat funny setup, but still very nice, a small refrigerator, adorable and quiet balcony and a bathroom with a separate tile shower, double pedestal sinks and jetted bath. There is also a laundry room available for guests, which is great.
A welcome basket of goodies to snack on is provided, complete with soda, popcorn, granola bars, chips, candy, etc., which is simple but useful. Avila La Fonda provides complimentary service events, including, a breakfast of warm croissants, a taco bar at noon, and an evening reception of local wines and cheese. To top off the evening, enjoy fresh and inviting local pies. They also provide complimentary use of chairs and umbrellas for the beach, which is a few few steps (one block) away. La Fonda includes everything you need for a great getaway at no extra cost.
This is a lovely place to relax with that special someone and children would enjoy also. There is no pool or workout room, however the beach is right there. So you get your exercise and enjoy this special little town. Look around and see all the smiles and friendly people.
